The RHIC, Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Realistic Heavy Ion Collider has recently gotten an upgrade that has caused it generate collisions among ions that are 20 times stronger than before. This could theoretically create stranglets or quark matter that could start a chain reactions to make everything into strange matter and destroy everything on the planet. Just like in the TV show The Flash.
