6. He Was Obsessively Superstitious About Religion

Elvis’s relationship with faith was complex. Though raised in a Christian household and known for singing gospel music, he wore multiple religious symbols simultaneously — a Christian cross, a Star of David, and the Hebrew Chai symbol — saying he didn’t want to “miss Heaven due to a technicality.” As his fame grew, so did his spiritual obsession. He read mystical texts, studied Eastern religions, and even believed he was spiritually gifted. Toward the end of his life, some of his friends reported that he began preaching to them and quoting the Bible obsessively. He also believed in numerology and prophecy. While many admired his devotion, others thought it bordered on paranoia and delusion, especially as his drug use and isolation deepened.
