30. Florida – Riviera Beach
Riviera Beach stands out in Florida due to its relatively high violent crime rate per 100k of 934 compared to surrounding coastal communities. Despite its location near affluent areas in Palm Beach County, parts of the city have struggled with poverty, gang-related incidents, and inconsistent redevelopment. The contrast between nearby wealth and local instability is especially sharp. While Florida’s major metros often dominate headlines, Riviera Beach shows how smaller cities can carry concentrated crime patterns that persist over time. Certain neighborhoods have improved, but others continue to face recurring safety concerns tied to economic pressure and limited long-term investment.
