6. Gruinard Island, Scotland
This small Scottish island was used for anthrax testing during World War II. Hundreds of sheep died, and the island remained quarantined for decades. Although it was decontaminated in the 1980s, the island’s history as a biological weapons testing site keeps it on the list of dangerous islands.
