49. New York – Sagaponack
Population: 1,000 | Median income: $200,000+ | Home price: $5.5M+ | Wealth concentration Top 1%
Sagaponack, located in the Hamptons, is one of the highest-value real estate markets in the United States. Wealth here is driven by hedge fund managers, media executives, and global investors holding seasonal estates. The housing stock is extremely limited, with large oceanfront and farmland estates dominating the landscape. Demand is heavily seasonal but intensely competitive, pushing median property values to national extremes. It remains one of the clearest examples of concentrated luxury coastal wealth.
